Alhamdulillah. Ramadhan is here again.
It’s time to take our brains out of our stomachs and plant it in our hearts.
Time to reflect.
Many of the times in Ramadan, I am at work on usual hours and thus, apart from listening to the Quran, I like reading self-reflection books on faith and Islam.
I am challenging myself (and anyone who would like to join in) to read three books for the month. Since I am a procrastinator, and I stress myself out by watching deadlines whiz by; I need everyone’s help and motivation for all of us to go through this together (to all other procrastinators out there)
In the end of the month, we can all write reviews on the best read from the list
Here is the list and I hope this helps us Inshallah by the grace of God;
LOVE OF ALLAH BY THE QURAN PROJECT

MUHAMMAD: A PROPHET FOR OUR TIME BY KAREN ARMSTRONG
This book has been on my list for the longest of time; but I haven’t got myself around to reading it yet. Maybe because I keep waiting for my mind to clear and read it with my mind at peace. I feel like this is the kind of book you read.
I want to read this book because it is in a perspective of a non – Muslim, but in a positive way for the Prophet Muhammad. It’s a different perception.
I understand the sentiments when – we- Muslims , call prophet Muhammad our prophet. But we need to share

30 LESSONS FOR THOSE WHO FAST BY AI’ID AL QARNI
This is thirty lessons for thirty days of Ramadhan. It’s a reminder and lessons, to better understand why we fast. This will help us not just to go through Ramadhan like another tick in the box or another chore, but to fully understand, and to fully put our minds and hearts into this exceptional deed.

Amidst all of these, let’s also not forget to read the Quran
